Lavina Mary Akeman
Lavina born in Fayette Co., IL. in 1872, the daughter of Solomon Akeman and Nancy A. Kirkman. Her first husband was John Walter Cates, she married him Nov. 7, 1889 in Fayette Co., IL. It is unknown what happened to this marriage as Lavina again marries, this time to Simeon E. Curtis on Nov. 24, 1901. What is known is that her daughter, Almira, went by the name of Alma Curtis before her marriage. What happened to Lavina and Simeon is unknown. They had a son who died at a young age and is buried in the Mason cemetery.
