Lewis Yingst, 93, Dies
Lewis E. Yingst, 93, of Route 1, Edgewood, passed away at 6:00 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 1, 1997, in his home.
He was born May 12, 1904, at Rose Hill, a son of John F. and Mary M. (Ward) Yingst. He married Violet E. Landreth on Apr. 28, 1931, at Pesotum. He was a retired employee of the Iola Stone Quarry. He was baptized into the Full Gospel Church of Edgewood.
He is survived by his wife, Violet of Edgewood; sons, James E. Yingst and wife, Wanda Kay, of Route 1, Farina, Vic Yingst and wife, Debra, of Edgewood, Carl Yingst and wife, Shirley, of Kinmundy, Robert Yingst and wife, Sara, of Edgewood, David Yingst of Liberal, Kansas, and Glenn Yingst and wife, Diane, of Edgewood; daughters, Betty Fancher of Farina, Ruby Caldwell and husband, Wayne, of Edgewood, Emma Davis and husband, Lester, of Edgewood, Maxine Wilson of Edgewood, Violet Lilley and husband, Don, of Louisville, Ruth Liska and husband, Ed, of Louisville, and Fern Hays and husband, Terry, the Louisville; brother, Gene Yingst of Bradleyville, Missouri; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Lewis E. Yingst, Jr.; daughter, Laura Kathleen Yingst; brother, John Wesley Yingst; and four sisters, Alice Woods, Elsie Reynolds, Laura Woodworth, and Mamie Yingst.
That year all will be held at 2: 00 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 4th, at the Pagel Funeral Home in Edgewood with Judy Poe officiating. Burial will be in the Mahon Cemetery, Route 1, Mason. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
