Rites Set At Edgewood

EDGEWOOD -- Mrs. John W. (Mary E. Shup) Yingst, 75, of rural Mason, Died 6:45 a.m. Tuesday in St. Anthony Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Yingst was mourn in Jasper County, the daughter of James and Florence Stinger Shup. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Newton. She married John Wesley Yingst in 1920 who survives.

Also surviving are sons, Lewis of Freeburg, Floyd William of Heartville, John Jr. of Teutopolis, Robert of Oakley; daughters, Mrs. Roberta Horath of Iola, Rosemary Higgs, Mabel Fancher, Connie Tipsword and Judy Yingst, all of Mason, Deloris Lilley of Teutopolis, Elsie Robinson of Flora, Florence Coble of Louisville, Kentucky, Ethel Simmons of Milmine, Gladys Cox of Edgewood, Elaine Karnes of Beecher City; brother, Jesse Shup of Canyon City, Colorado; sister, Mabel Veal of Indianapolis, Indiana; step brothers, George Darling of Knightstown, Indiana; Paul Darling of Newcastle, Indiana; 75 Grandchildren and 78 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, three daughters and one brother.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Pagel Funeral Home, Edgewood, with visitation from 4 to 9 p.m. today. Burial will be in Leith Cemetery, Mason.
