Mrs. Pearl Jenkins Dies at Hospital

Mrs. Pearl Jenkins, 61, of Louisville died Sunday afternoon in the St. Anthony Memorial hospital in Effingham where she had been a patient for five weeks. Prior to that time she had been seriously ill in her home.

She was married to Bert Jenkins on Oct. 28, 1913 and they lived in Farina for several years. They moved to Iola and had lived in Louisville for the past ten years.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, are three sons: Lester of Iola, Leonard (Andy) of Louisville and Keith of Mattoon; daughters, Carnell of East St. Louis; a brother, Arlu Ricketts of LaClede and sisters, Mrs. Hazel Fallon of Vandalia and Dorothy Cox of Edgewood. There are nine grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at the Louisville Baptist Church with Rev. Merle McDonnough officiating. Burial was in the Iola Cemetery with Dillman Funeral Home of Louisville in charge of arrangements.
