Rose Mary Higgs, 68, of Mason, died approximately 9:30 a.m. Friday July 2, prior to her arrival at St.Anthony's Memorial hospital, Effingham.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday Jul. 5 at Pagel Funeral Home, Edgewood. Burial will be at the Mason Cemetery, Mason.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 4, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Pagel Funeral Home.Mrs. Higgs was born Jun. 14, 1925 in Hays, the daughter of John Wesley Sr. and Mary E. (Shup) Yingst.
She married John Oddress Higgs on Aug. 3, 1940 in Effingham. He preceded her in death, Nov. 26, 1985.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Mason Edgewood Keenagers Club.
In surviving are two sons : Larry Higgs, Dietrich, Wilbert Higgs, Mason, three daughters: Mrs. Marilyn O'Leary, Edgewood, Mrs. Barbara Webster, Mason, Mrs. Darlene Young , Effingham, three brothers: Floyd Yingst, Flora, John Yingst Jr., Teutopolis and Robert Yingst, Oakley: T. and sisters : Roberta Horath, Edgewood, Deloris Lilley, Teutopolis, Elsie Robinson, Flora, Florence Coble, Louisville, Kentucky, Mabel Fancher, Edgewood, Ethel Simmons, Milmine, Connie Tipsword, Mason, Gladys Austin, Edgewood, Elaine Karnes, St. Elmo and Judy Long , Effingham, 18 Grandchildren and four Great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Duane, two brothers and three sisters.
