From Farina News : Virgie Limes, 80, Dies

Mrs. Ray (Virgie A. Hord) Limes, 80, of Iola passed away at 8:12 a.m. Friday, April 5, 1991, at the Clay County Hospital in Flora.

Mrs. Limes was born November 21, 1910 in Blair Township, Clay County, the daughter of Welkes and Mattie (Lewis) Hord. She married Ray Limes on December 27, 1927, in Clay County. He passed away April 6, 1967. She was a member of the Hord Christian Church and a homemaker.

Surviving are her sons, Jerry and Norman of Iola and Larry of Edgewood; daughters, Mrs. Louis (Jean) Birch of Venice, Florida, Mrs. Gus (Vivian) George of Champaign, Mrs. Glen (Marguarite) Louder of Edgewood and Mrs. Clyde (Juanita) Mulvaney of Kinmundy; sister, Mrs. Cecil (Leona) Moore of Flora; 19 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 5 step-great grandchildren; and one great - great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a sister, a grandchild, a great grandchild and a great - great grandchild.

The funeral was held at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 7th. at Pagel Funeral Home in Edgewood. Burial was in Edgewood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
