PROPERTY TAX RELIEF FOR FLOOD DAMAGE
Martin County Assessor is reassessing all Truman homes
for damage from the recent flood. If your property sustained
significant damage or destruction during the recent flood and
storms, you may be eligible for property-tax relief on taxes to be
pain in 2011. If the county assessor has not reassessed your
property already and you believe your estimated market value has
been reduced due to the disaster or damage, contact the assessor's
office 507-238-3210 to have an assessor view the damage for purpose
of property tax relief. This program is an automotic property
tax rebate program and will take effect in the areas that meet the
criteria for taxes payable in 2011. If your area qualifies and
your home was reassessed and damage was found, you will
automatically receive the rebate on your 2011 Property Tax
Statement.
