About our Farm |
| Hello, and thank you for visiting our web site. We raise registered Morgan horses and Clydesdale/Thoroughbred cross horses, on a small farm in the mid-Ohio valley. We are located about fifteen miles from Parkersburg, West Virginia, right on the West Virginia/Ohio border. Marietta, Ohio is just across the river. We have some very nice horses on the farm, all have wonderful temperaments and potential for nearly any equestrian discipline. We welcome visitors ~ just give us a call to make sure someone will be here to show you the horses, give you directions, and put on the coffee. We also welcome your telephone calls or email and will be happy to make a "home video" of a particular horses or horses for you. | Our Morgan horses are very versatile; they are primarily used for pleasure, but would be just as comfortable in the show ring. Here on the farm, we use ours for riding and driving. The bloodlines in our Morgans are primarily what are referred to as "Government breeding"; as most of our horses' closer ancestors were bred in Vermont by the University of Vermont breeding program. | The Clydesdale/Thoroughbred cross produces a horse of substantial bone, deep forehand, and curious, willing temperament. You may hear these horses referred to as "Warmbloods", because they mix the Coldblooded draft horse (Clydesdales), who are known for their even temper and calm demeanor, with the Hotblooded Thoroughbred, who are known to be a little high strung. Some also refer to them as "Thoroughdales", for obvious reasons. These horses excel in pleasure riding, dressage, show jumping, field hunter, and carriage horses.
