General Notes:
Ramsay's School S.S. #10
"The first Ramsay's School, located on the northeast corner of Lot 26, Concession 2, was a log house, erected in 1858 by a community bee. About 30 by 40 feet, it contained desks and seats for the older pupils, and benches along the walls for the little tots. Attendance ranged from 100 to 110, and the ages of the pupils were between 5 and 24. Many of the older pupils attended only through the winter months. This log structure was replaced by a frame school house in 1873 built on the same site." P. 81
"A reunion was held in 1927, when the teacher was Miss Margaret Brown (Mrs. Harvey Robertson). Mary Ann (McCracken) Roe, the oldest teacher present, came all the way from Nebraska to be present. She was Ramsey's second teacher." P. 82
