John Steele Sr. m. Catherine Jarvis

Looking for my Steele line. I've gotten to John Sr. b 1764 in Virginia -
m. Catherine Jarvis before 1788 b 1767 in Virginia. I don't have any
information on their parents. I know they were married in VA but moved to
St. Clair County, Illinois and both died there.

They had 11 children. William, Fielding, Samuel, John Jr., Joicy, Jane,
Sarah, Lucy, and Catherine.

We descend through William b. Dec 8, 1788 in VA. He m. Jane Sparks Abt
1810 in Clinton County, Illinois.

They had 10 children. Margaret, John, Catherine, Matthew, Absalom, Jesse
(Jepee), Nancy, William, Nathan, Fielding.

We come through William's line b. Apr 27, 1826 in Clinton County, IL. He
m. Sarah C. Johnson in Clinton County, IL - not sure of date.

They had 8 children. John J., Samuel A., Malinda C., James W., Elmer E.,
Mary Ellen, Finnish H., Frank A.

We come through Samuel's line b. Feb 17, 1856 in St. Louis, MO. He m.
Elizabeth Alice Outhouse in 1874 in Huey, Clinton County, IL.

They had 6 children. Charlie, Frank E., Elsie, Ralph R., Oliver Post,
Raymond Leroy.

We come through Oliver's line b. Aug 11, 1893 in Uniondale, St. Louis
County, MO. He m. Gertrude Lester Powell Jul 1, 1913 in East St. Louis,
MO.

They had 8 children. Marjorie Virginia, Martha Winifred, Robert Powell,
Lester O. Frances Lucille, Betty Ann, Dorothy May, Elizabeth Alice.

We come through Betty's line b Feb 25, 1927 in St. Louis, MO. She married
Charles Esco Dunn Jr. Jul 4, 1948 in Overland, St. Louis County, MO.

They had two children. Janyce Marie Dunn and Scott Charles Dunn (to whom
I am married).

This is the complete Steele line that my husband comes from but I really
am looking for any further information.

I have only recently started genealogy research and I started with
practically nothing. The only information I had was 3 generations.

John married Catherine Jarvis, daughter of Field Jarvis and Unknown, about 1787 in Virginia. (Catherine Jarvis was born in 1767 in Virginia and died in St. Clair County, Illinois.)
