Mrs. Lucy M. Kubesh, a life long resident of Renville County passed away June 17 at the Renville County Hospital.
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 20 at 10:00 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church at Olivia. Father T. D. Szymanski officiated at the Requiem High Mass assisted by Father John Siebenand of Hector. The choir sang the requiem accompanied by Mrs. James Custer as organist. At the close of the service, Mrs. Joe Haspert, Mrs. Glenn Roiger and Mrs. Cletus Philips of Hector sang "Out of the Depths to Thee."
Pallbearers were nephews Edward, Peter and George Wacek, Louis, Edward and Patrick Kubesh. Great nephews Kevin Wacek and Terrance and Ronald Ourada served as altar boys.
Lucy Margaret Wacek was born Dec. 17, 1888 in Troy township to Peter and Mary (Svoboda) Wacek. She was united in marriage to Joseph M. Kubesh on Nov. 12, 1912. Two daughters, Mrs. Marvin Johnson (Marianne) of Hector and Mrs. Harold Markuson (Lucille) of Minneapolis survive. She was preceeded in death by two brothers and three sisters. Four grandchildren survive, Luanne Johnson of Minneapolis, Paul, Wayne and Norine of Hector.
Relatives and friends attended from Lodi, California; Carter, Montana; Wadena, Willmar, Minneapolis, St. Paul, Lucan and surrounding towns and communities.
