QUONSET HUTS IN THE ADMINISTRATIVE AREA
Looking up the hill toward Camp Headquarters. Notice the lush green vegetation. There was a special area next to supply that was planted in grass and watered to keep it alive. A man who irritated the Commanding Officer found himself appointed "Groundskeeper" with the sole task of keeping that patch of grass green. It was an almost impossible task. The entire camp was one huge rock pile surrounded by caliche. Outside the camp area there were typical desert plants like cholla cactus, yucca, barrel cactus.
