When I left the Army in July 1961 I went back to my home in Detroit, got married and went to work at General Motors as a press operator. In 1963 I worked at the Ford warehouse. In 1966 I moved to Denver with my wife and two children. Things did not work out and we moved back to Michigan in 1967. I went back to the Ford company as a hi-lo driver and in 1978 became an apprentice millwright. I was divorced in 1984 and a year later met Virginia through a high school class reunion. We had dated back in high school. We were married a year later. I retired from Ford in 2000 and now live in Tennessee. My son is a doctor in North Carolina and my daughter is a teacher in Michigan. Between Virginia and I, we have 9 grandchildren. I have been in the Tennessee State Guard for 7 years with the rank of CWO-2.
