Roy and Sharon Lichte
Roy added:
Upon leaving the service in 1962 and returning to Indiana, I began a career
in Engineering and Supervision at Allison Transmission, Division of General
Motors, in Indianapolis. We moved to the suburbs in Speedway, IN,
and then Brownsburg. I was able to finish four years of college with
a degree from Purdue University. We have two daughters (the older
being born while we were at Bristol, RI, and four grandchildren.
My wife Shannon and I have been married for 44 years. We have traveled
to Europe (lived with a German famly for four days), Prince Edward Island
and Hawaii. Over the years we have done a lot of camping and traveling,
progressing from a tent, popup, mini motor home, travel trailer, to a fifth
wheel. We spent a lot of time fishing in Minnesota and wintering
in Fort Myers, Florida. I retired in June of 2002 and Shannons's
health began to deteriorate. She passed away on January 25, 2004.
I met Sharon in 2006 and after a great courtship, we were married on August
25, 2007, and now live in Danville, IN. We enjoy our togetherness
and are thankful for each other, for our families, and for our good friends.
God has blessed us.
