PHILOSOPHY
It is sometimes hard to help a child or a young person find the next engaging, exciting or worthwhile book to read. There are certainly many current titles, and new ones coming out every day. While many of these are wonderful, Tin Woodman Books supports the belief that some of the best literature and reading available for children can be found among the out-of-print and older titles. As with the Tin Woodman, many characters and stories are either remembered only for their most famous exploits, or perhaps forgotten almost entirely. While the Oz books remain in print, many shorter series and equally engaging adventures do not. The popular series and overlooked gems of years past are sometimes difficult to get acquainted with and hard to find. Once you find them, though, they offer just as much to your child as the better known classics or the many great books that are currently popular. Our Suggestions page has (well… will have when we get it up) ideas and discussion of good books, even though we may not stock them currently.
On this website we offer a range of books which we hope will offer something new to you and your child. We have tried to put together our books which address the desire young people have to be exposed to new ideas and engaging books, both fiction and non-fiction. While not all of our books will speak to everyone, we hope that there will be something that sparks your interest. We have recent fiction and non-fiction as well as the older stuff, and will offer anything we think will be engaging to young minds. While we highlight only a few of our books on these pages, all of our listings may easily be viewed by using any of this links to Biblio or our other retail stores.
