I started out to build an 8 element Quagi antenna.  The layout and dimensions are corrrect but my final build resulted in a 9th element as pictured.  I think if I had it to do all over again I would have stuck with the 8 element.  In the old days I made the boom from 1X2 wood 10 feet long.  But the boom would only last 2 to 3 years due to the weather elements.  Plus the 10 foot boom would only allow the antenna to have 6 elements.  This time the construction will be done with square 1 1/2” fiberglass material, the boom will be 17 fool long and will have 9 elements.  If you stick with the plans I show on the layout page you can use 1” and 1 1/4” square fiberglass material and the boom will be 14 feet and a little lighter.
