Following the money: Analyzing who and what is opposing Polymet
Following the money: Analyzing who and what is opposing Polymet. Why? $$ and their mining investments elsewhere. The "protest" groups are only the vehicle for that hedge fund investment. They obviously are not representing the interests of Minnesota and its people. How are our local media representatives involved? One conclusion? Environmental protest groups are little more than a profit motivated hedge fund project.
Following below is a short list of research on a Sunday afternoon.
Soros has invested in this company: Freeport-McMoRan . You make the call as to what his environmental attack dog is about. (Amnesty International). How many environmental extremists look like a bunch of dupes right now? Consider yourself an employee of George Soros and his financial interests because that is what the obstruction in Minnesota is all about. You are not working for the best interests of the people in this state as we have a sound project (Polymet) based on science, policy and procedure.

From another article: Soros Funded Amnesty International we have an attack dog going after Polymet. (Soros is a billionaire hedge fund manager)

Know your enemy... How do you destroy America? You break down its founding tenets piece by piece. What does this have to do with mining? Think about it for a while and recognize it for the evil it is.
-----------
Ordinary people are given the false impression that someone is watching out for human rights abuses, when in reality, all Amnesty and other organizations like it are doing, is managing public perception selectively of global human rights abuses, fabricating and/or manipulating many cases specifically to suit the agenda of large corporate-financier interests. This can be seen when entire reports out of Amnesty or Human Rights Watch consist solely of witness reports compiled from accounts of US-backed opposition groups.

Trolling the Minnesota political funding next. Go to the following site and enter Soros, George for the search. You will find the people who are in a position to make decisions or do nothing are on the Soros "payroll". Does this make you want to continue to be a Democrat in Minnesota when any decisions are likely pre purchased? Hmmm. The potential ethics of this make your head spin.

The research below looks like another action from the Warren Buffett playbook with his railroad investments. I would like to follow up on this further. Perhaps the Let Freedom Ring Blog http://www.letfreedomringblog.com/ might follow up on any monetary and political connections to Minnesota government and other local environmental extremist groups in Minnesota Robert Gillam has?
_________
On the Pebble Mine in Alaska. Who was behind that anti mining effort?
And sure enough, the Senatemajority.com
website reveals another possible reason. This website highlights the political relationship which has evolved between Senator Stevens and an Alaska constituent named Robert B. Gillam. Gillam, who owns a 10,000-square-foot log house on a peninsula jutting into Lake Clark, about 30 miles from the mine site, and whose
Alaska investment firm holds more than
$1 billion in mining stocks for clients,
Stevens has Invested As Much As $500,000 With Gillam's Investment Company, McKinley Capital Management - Stevens' investment in McKinley Capital Management first appears on his personal financial disclosures in 1999, and remains on disclosures from 1999 through 2004. On Stevens amendment to his 2004 disclosure, the McKinley Capital Management investment is absent, with no explanation of what became of the investment.

On Earthworks: Who was funding that effort?
Earthworks is an American non-profit environmental organization. Based in Washington, D.C., Earthworks seeks to prevent or limit mining operations, natural gas production, hydraulic fracturing and oil production. Earthworks is a vocal opponent of mining in Bristol Bay, Alaska an area commonly known as the Pebble Mine.
Earthworks is affiliated with Robert Gillam, a billionaire who funds opposition groups and campaigns seeking to shutter any mining in Bristol Bay.
Extreme left-wing foundations such as the Tides Foundation, the Gordon & Betty Moore Foundation and the David & Lucile Packard Foundation provide significant funding to Earthworks.

How do you ace out your competition? There is a strategy solution thought out for that already evidently... From Deloitte.
The Sustainable Impact Investing and Thematic Impact Investing categories
which may be
the sweet spot for hedge fund managers suggest selecting targeted companies
(Sustainable Impact Investing) and social and environmental themes (Thematic Impact Investing) while seeking competitive financial returns.
The Impact First Investing category targets both social and environmental issues where the impact takes precedence over financial returns. For reference, the first category, Traditional Investing, is solely designed to achieve financial returns while disregarding any social or environmental impact. The last category, Philanthropy, is designed to achieve a specific social or environmental outcome, while disregarding any financial return.7

If it walks and smells like a skunk it probably is. Check out the connections of Robert Gillam at the below link. Buffett for one has used this strategy with pipeline protest groups.
Of note: George Soros, Warren Buffett.

The same funding sources keep showing up.
Izaak Walton League of America, IWLA has also received $425,000 to conduct sustainability education from the left-wing William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, $125,000 of which was designated for international work. The Hewlett Foundation also has funded Planned Parenthood and the San Francisco-based Tides Center, which along with the Tides Foundation serves as a vehicle for funneling money to a variety of radical left-wing groups such as Greenpeace, the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), and Environmental Working Group.
