The Fox tribe never recovered from their losses at the Battle of St. Croix Falls. The few who remained joined the Sac tribe in southwestern Wisconsin. The Sioux and Chippewa continued with skirmishes over hunting grounds for many years though the United States tried to set boundaries to keep them apart. Waub-O-Jeeg remains a legendary hero in Chippewa history. His memory is kept alive locally at Camp Waub-O-Jeeg, two miles north of downtown Taylors Falls.
