General Notes:
"I was born in Angermanland, Sweden on Aug. 13, 1890. My maiden name was Johanson. I came to Canada in July 1912 -- at the invitation of my Grandparents John and Anna Lindstrom. I came on the Allan Line Ship Lunyri. The weather was beautiful, so we had a lovely ocean trip, but the train ride in Canada was lonely. When I arrived in Prince Albert I stayed at the Immigrant Home for two days waiting for my train to Kinistino. There were many neighbors to care for me - ole Sundin, J.D. Norvald, Lars Hendrickson and Rudolf Breimon. I stayed with my grandparents for two years when I married Axel Sjolin on June 1, 1914. We lived on the homestead until 1926. Then bought S.W. 3-47 - 21-2nd.
We had a family of five sons: Lloyd married Lillian Rivard. They have two daughters, Vivian and Alma. Harry, Raymond and Gordon are not married, and live on the homestead S.W. 3-47-21-2nd. Alf married Evelyn Thompson. They have two daughters, Judith and Laura, and one sonTerry.
Axel took a very active and enthusiastic interest in community affairs. He and some others held the first meeting to orgaize the building of Norden School. In those days the yearly tax was $5.00 - surely different from the present day.
We retired into Kinistino in 1945, leaving our sons with the farm work. Axel passed away Oct. 30, 1954. I still live in Kinistino, busy with baking and household chores and garden. I am very proud of our four granddaughters and one grandson -- also two great-granddaughters and three great-grandsons.
Alma married Axel Sjolin, son of Jonas Larsson-Sjolen and Ulrika Augusta Anderson, on 1 Jun 1914 in Kinistino, , Saskatchewan, Canada. (Axel Sjolin was born on 15 Dec 1884 in Idenor, Helsingland, Sweden, died on 29 Oct 1953 in Kinistino, , Saskatchewan, Canada 23 and was buried in Kinistino Cemetery, Kinistino, Saskatchewan, Canada.)
