Many of the second year students have worked very hard this year designing and creating their pieces for this show. Here is some information about the designers and their designs.
Jenny Eshleman
Jenny’s interest in Fashion was sparked when she was younger. She would like to use her unique sense of style to create her own clothing line and would like to have her own store. She admires the designer, Kimora Lee Simmons for the way her clothing fits and her style. Jenny influences others to be themselves and to never give up. She enjoys new experiences and is always up for a challenge. As Jenny says “if there’s something you haven’t done…do it.”
Sherona Coy
Sherona’s inspiration comes from her sister and lives by the quote of, “Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened.” She would like to see herself with her own successful clothing store and have graduated from FIT. She is a determined individual who is ready for challenges and new experiences in the future. She is prepared and ready to work hard for what she wants, knowing that the fashion industry is difficult to get into and just as difficult to stay into.
Vanessa Weissman
Vanessa was inspired by her love for fashion when she realized she could shop for a living. Vanessa loved designing her own garments, although the work was very difficult. Vanessa is a unique individual who enjoys new things; she feels with every new experience, it broadens your horizon. Vanessa loves meeting new people and seeing things in a different perspective.
Miranda Lee
Miranda Lee is a hard working individual who runs on the adrenaline of continuous challenges. Miranda is inspired by her Aunt and designers like Kimora Lee, who guides her to express her personality in her work. With Miranda’s sense of crazy but fun style, she continues to show originality. Miranda’s ability to impress others with her drawings and enthusiasm helps her to achieve her goals and live out her legacy.
Erin McConnell
People describe Erin McConnell as “corky, cute and bubbly” and her personal style definitely reflects these traits. Erin admires the famous designers Betsey Johnson and Anna Sui, known for there wacky and very unique designs. The designs Erin makes obviously reflect her personal style because the garment she is showing will be her prom dress. Erin believes we should all “view our lives as a movie, and make sure we are keeping ourselves entertained and fulfilling the role of the protagonist.”
