My message for this month is time, yes time.
There is still 60 seconds in a minute and there is still 60 minutes in
an hour. And the last time I checked there is still 24 hours in a
day. But, "No time, no time, no time," is what we hear over and
over again. As I was seeking some answers for this problem, I
believe the Holy Spirit revealed some wisdom on this matter. It
works on the same principle as tithing. When you give God the
first tenth of your income, He will bless the 90 percent that's left.
That's the blessing from God. Your money will last longer, go
further, and accomplish more. The same principle works with time.
Proverbs 8:17 I love them that love me. And those that
seek me early shall find me. When you give God the first of
your time, He will bless the rest. Your time will last longer, go
further, and accomplish more. Who knows you may even have some
left over to bless someone else.
Another fact about time, to be a good leader and an
over comer you need to take time to rest. One notable president of
the United States understood this fact. He absolutely refused to
make any major decision after 4:00 in the afternoon. He knew that
a tired mind rarely makes good decisions. One bad decision can
create countless tragedies. Rest and recreation are not a sin.
Rest is repair time. It is not a loss of productivity. It is
a time for renewing. It is receiving time. It helps you
release your potential.
Jesus was an action man, a people person. He
produced. He healed. He preached and taught. He walked
among the people. But, He also knew the necessity of rest and
relaxation. Mark 6:31 Come ye yourselves apart into a
desert place, and rest a while.
Think about this every day, Jesus faced hundreds of
the sick and afflicted who screamed for His attention. Many were
demon possessed. Mothers reached for Him. Fathers asked Him
to pray for their children. Children did not want to leave His
presence. But Jesus separated Himself to receive. He knew He
could only give away that which He possessed. Work time is giving.
Rest time is receiving. You must have both. God created the
earth in six days. he took the time to rest on the seventh day.
He set an example for us. Jesus did the same thing. Jesus
understood the balance of rest and work, which might be the reason He
was able to accomplish so much in three and one-half years.
Life is demanding. In fact, the more you
succeed the more people will demand of you. Rebuilding yourself
will require your attention. You need to take one day a week off
and completely and totally relax. Focus on something completely
different than you job. Your mind will think clearer. You
will make better decisions. You will see life through different
eyes. You will accomplish far more in less time. The fires
of desire will always rage within you. You must dominate that rage
and focus it. Learn to rest. Jesus did. Take time or
time will take you.
