Roleplaying Clubs and Organizations

The University of Rochester Simulation Gaming Association (URSGA)
URSGA, at the University of Rochester, is the region's longest-established gaming organization, its existence predating roleplaying games back to when the group was known as the UR Wargames Club.  Membership is open to anyone wishing to join -- no affiliation with the University is necessary.  Besides holding weekly meetings and helping to organize games throughout the week, URSGA sponsors the annual SIMCON games conventions (see below), and also holds regular big-screen showings of Japanese animation, or anime.
URSGA meets on Monday nights at 7:30 PM in the UR's Wilson Commons student union.   Meetings will resume in September when UR classes begin.

Rochester Wargamers' Association and Guild (RWAG)
RWAG, at the Rochester Institute of Technology, is also open to all persons interested in attending.  Despite the name, RWAG organizes and promotes all forms of adventure gaming, including roleplaying, strategic and tactical games, and collectible card games.  RWAG is also home to many of the area's LARP (live-action roleplaying) enthusiasts.  Sponsors of the annual Rudicon gaming conventions (see below), RWAG meets on Tuesday nights at 7:00 PM in the RIT Student Union Cafeteria when RIT is in session.

Geneseo Area Gaming Group (GAGG)
A newer, but very active and enthusiastic group, GAGG, at the State University of New York College at Geneseo (SUNY Geneseo), has already sponsored two small- but-successful annual conventions (see RunningGAGG, below).  Check their Web site for further details and contact information.

UB Strategists and Role Players Association (UB-SARPA)
Located at the SUNY University at Buffalo, UB-SARPA sponsors the UBCon gaming conventions (see below) as well as open gaming and other events.  Their excellent Web site explains all the details.
