Darrell J. Welsh, SUTHERLAND
Darrel John Welsh, 54, of Keystone, formerly of the Hershey area, died
Aug. 20, 1998, at Sidney. He was born June 25, 1944, at North Platte to
John Burton and Anna Helen Hurt Welsh. He grew up in the Birdwood
community
and attended Birdwood School District 36 north of Hershey. He graduated
from
Hershey High School with the Class of 1962.
On Aug. 8, 1964, he married Sue Ann Bostwick at Hershey. They had three
sons. They farmed in the Platte Valley community and north of Hershey in
the
Birdwood community for many years.
Mr. Welsh was employed with Ogallala Ready Mix at the time of his death.
He loved fishing with his sons and nephews.
Survivors include three sons, Paul Ray of Lincoln and his fiancee,
Vanessa
Brunssen of Wahoo, Shawn Donald (Amber) of Washington, D.C., and Trent
Alan
of Lincoln; a niece, Melinda (Jeff) Brodbeck of Ogallala; three nephews,
Jay
(Tammie) Welsh of Hershey, Bob (Roxanne) Welsh of Denver and Darin (Julie)
Welsh of Paxton; and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by
his parents and a brother and sister-in-law, Jerry Evert and Sharon
Welsh.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Grace Lutheran
Church
in Sutherland.
Services will be at 10 A.M. Tuesday at the church in Sutherland with
Pastor Margaret R. Olson officiating. Burial will be in Riverview
Cemetery south of
Sutherland.
The casket will not be opened. Those wishing to sign the memorial book may
do so at Odean Colonial Chapel at C and Sycamore in North Platte from 4-9
P.M. today; 10 A.M. to 9 P.M. Sunday; 8:30 A.M. to 9 P.M. Monday and at
the
church in Sutherland before services.
Odean Colonial Chapel at C and Sycamore in North Platte is in
charge.

Darrell married Sue Ann Bostwick.
