All of the patterns here are designed by Rebecca Boline and are not available at wholesale to other shops or distributors. They are uniquely available through Bolines LLC, on our website, or at quilt shows. These patterns are designed specifically for our five yard kits. All of them are easy and fast. The patterns are copyrighted and may not be copied in any way or used for classes.
The following patterns were designed to make a twin size quilt from our Five Yard Kits. Each pattern requires five one yard cuts of fabric. Patterns may not work with fat quarters or half yards. Some patterns are appropriate for both regular cotton and flannel. Some are only appropriate for regular cotton. Cotton flannel is often not as wide as regular cotton and will only work with patterns specified for flannel. If you want to make a queen size quilt, you will need two Five Yard Kits. To make a king, you will need three Five Yard Kits. All of these patterns were designed to optimize the size of the quilt and use nearly every inch of the fabric. In most cases, I do NOT pre-wash fabrics and you must follow the directions explicitly. There is very little wasted fabric in these patterns.

Four and a Rail(Regular Cotton Only) This patten is a four-patch block and a four-strip rail block with a border. The pattern is designed to be used with fabric that is at least 42.5 inches wide without the selvages.It is appopriate for any type of fabric designs or colors. Four of the five fabrics are used in the blocks and the fifth is used for the border--your choice. It looks particularly good with a striped fabric on the border. The finished size is: 63" x 87"(twin). The pattern includes complete directions for cutting, sewing, and finishing the quilt. Top Hat Tessellations(Regular Cotton Only) A tessellation is created when a shape is repeated over and over again covering a plane without any gaps or overlaps. This pattern tessellates a Top Hat shape that looks best with four distinct colors or four distinct shades of fabric for the blocks. Fabrics which have the same value or similar color do not allow the tessellation to emerge. Four of the five fabrics are used in the blocks and the fifth is used for the border--your choice. It looks particularly good with a striped fabric on the border. The pattern is designed to be used with fabric that is at least 42.5 inches wide without the selvages. The finished size is: 63" x 87"(twin). The pattern includes complete directions for cutting, sewing, and finishing the quilt. Basket Weave(Regular Cotton Only) This is the only Five Yard Pattern that uses all five fabrics in the blocks and has no border. It looks best with five distinct colors or prints. Fabrics which have the same value or similar color do not allow the basket weave to emerge. The pattern is designed to be used with fabric that is at least 42.5 inches wide without the selvages. The finished size is: 60" x 96 "(twin). It is the longest Five Yard Quilt. The pattern includes complete directions for cutting, sewing, and finishing the quilt. Square Holes(Regular Cotton or Flannel) The blocks in this patten are squares surrounded by a narrow border. The pattern works well with large prints. Please note that the pattern does NOT allow for any fussy cutting. The pattern is designed to be used with fabric that is at least 38" wide for the blocks and 41" wide for the outside border. It is appopriate for most type of fabric designs or colors. It looks best when you can pair a contrasting fabric on the outside of each large square. Four of the five fabrics are used in the blocks and the fifth is used for the border--your choice. It looks particularly good with a striped fabric on the border. The finished size is: 57.5 " x 87.5"(twin). The pattern includes complete directions for cutting, sewing, and finishing the quilt. Four Plus One(Regular Cotton or Flannel) There are two different types of blocks in this pattern: a large square and a four patch.The two types of blocks alternate in a checkerboard pattern. It is appopriate for any type of fabric designs or colors. It was designed to be used with fabric that is at least 40 inches wide without the selvages. It looks particularly good with a striped fabric on the border. The finished size is: 56.5 " x 84.5". The pattern includes complete directions for cutting, sewing, and finishing the quilt. Pin Wheel Tessellations(Regular Cotton Only) A tessellation is created when a shape is repeated over and over again covering a plane without any gaps or overlaps. This pattern tessellates a four-bladed pin wheel shape that looks best with four distinct colors or four distinct shades of fabric for the blocks. Fabrics which have the same value or similar color do not allow the tessellation to emerge. Four of the five fabrics are used in the blocks and the fifth is used for the border--your choice. Off-Center Four Patch(Regular Cotton Only) The blocks in this pattern are composed of four pieces, but they are not all squares. There are two squares and two rectanges which qualify it as a four patch block, but the four patches do not come together in the center of the square.This pattern is appropriate for any type of fabric designs or colors and works very will with fabrics which are similar in color or value. It also looks good with large scale prints. It was designed to be used with fabric that is at least 42.5 inches wide without the selvages.The finished size is: 67 " x 91 ". Garden Path(Regular Cotton Only) There is one rectangular block in this pattern which uses all five fabrics. Therefore, there is no border in this pattern. Topsy Turvy Triangles(Regular Cotton Only) All the blocks in this pattern are half square triangles. They are placed randomly in the quilt. All five fabrics are used in the blocks so there is no border.
