"The White Buffalo"


To most Native Americans the rare albino animal was considered to be a special gift from the Great Spirit and as such was a much sought after hide or fur. to the plains Indians, the buffalo was the single most important source of livelihood; providing everything from food to tools, shelter and clothing. So it was only natural of some  of these tribes to revere the very rare whit buffalo. The hide of the White buffalo was considered by many Native Americans to be the ultimate gift that anyone could give th the great spirit during religious ceremonies and therefore it took on a special sacred significance
