Debbie Deane, Teacher
Music can bring so much joy to your life, as you discover the fun of making music for yourself by playing an instrument. I concentrate on the fundamentals of music and of playing the flute, which are the keys to successful musicianship. These will be needed for whatever direction in music the student wishes to pursue.
Lessons are conducted in a positive, supportive atmosphere where the overall goal is to experience the joy of making music. Besides the fundamentals, I try to broaden my students' knowledge about flute playing by listening to great flute players, encouraging attendance at local flute fairs, concerts and masterclasses given by visiting artists, and through exposure to different types/styles of music.
Debbie teaches from her studio in Brighton, located near the intersection of Winton and Westfall roads, just south of Brighton High School.
Debbie Deane, Soloist
I play for weddings and receptions, dinners, wine tastings, festivals, gallery openings, and garden tours at places such as Sonnenberg Gardens, the Landmark Society, the Inn on Broadway, Barnes & Noble and the Keuka Arts Festival. I use many different kinds of flutes, from the highest pitched flute, the piccolo, down to the lowest pitched members of the flute family, the alto and bass flutes. I also play all of these flutes and the pennywhistle in combination with different types and styles of music.
