Technology is AWESOME!!!

Technology is everywhere around us. Now it is even in our schools. Our children will have many opportunities that many of us have only dreamed of. Technology allows them to open many doors that may have otherwise been slammed shut without it. Today, our children need and will have the "Technological Edge".

3 computers in almost every classroom provides constant technological access.
Computer student-assessment by all of Dowdell's staff which allows teachers to keep grades current and accurate.
The school-wide network allows students to work on one/same project from any classroom.
Internet access allows teachers and students to obtain educational information from anywhere around the world, at anytime.
School E-mail allows communication with parent and teacher to be virtually continous.
Remedial/Computer programs such as Accelerated Reader, Hyperstudio, Student Writing Center, and Skillsbank allow students to have other performance options - going beyond pencil and paper.
Our Media Center houses most periodicals on computers for easy reference and printing.
A computer lab of 30 computers allows an entire class to work on technology projects.
All teachers use computerized assessments of children which keeps student records current, accurate, and instantaneous.
