SUMMER SCHEDULE

The 2013 summer schedule is available on a separate page.  The usual weekly stay is from Friday to Friday though as one can see other stays are available. By going from Fri to Fri we can more easily accommodate those wanting a long weekend. It still gives 2 complete weekends - one at the cabin, and one to rest up afterwards!

PACK LIST

A pack list that was developed after many fishing trips to Canada is also given on a separate page of this web site. It is meant to be a starting point. Certainly you may wish to add / delete given your particular set of circumstances. I've also posted a food list for those staying any length of time. It, too, is a list we used in Canada where we did not have access to a grocery store. Birchwood does have a grocery store so this is not as important of a document. Use as you see fit.

DIRECTIONS

The short of it is to tell you to get yourself to Rice Lake, WI. From there you will want to view the attached maps.

If you have a GPS, another way of handling directions to the cabin is to tell you that the address of the cabin is 2181 Ol' Hays Rd.,  Birchwood, WI 54817. If you do not have a GPS, then visit http://www.mapquest.com/main.adp. Click on driving directions. Upon typing in both your home address as well as the cabin's you will be given a detailed set of directions. Maps are also available.

DISTANCE

A quick estimate of the distance from your home to Lake Chetac can be achieved at the following web site. http://www.randmcnally.com/rmc/directions/dirGetMileageInput.jsp Use your own city zip code as well as "54817" for Birchwood. Add approx. 6 miles to the distance given.
