Welcome to my website about affirmative action. This website is for my class Participation In Government, and is meant to inform you about affirmative action along with my personal views about what should be done. I have also provided the history of affirmative action to show how it evolved into what it is today and the effects on society.

To start you off with some basic information, affirmative action means to give preferential treatment to minorities in admission to universities or employment in government and business. For example, in some universities, a minority applicant’s application will weigh more than a non-minority’s application. This means that colleges can look at race/ ethnicity over grades and qualifications to select students.

Seeing the problem affirmative action is today, being informed about it can slow it down and eventually bring affirmative action to a halt in creating an unfair advantage.
