"Passed away Saturday, Nov. 3, 1973, at Frankenmuth Convalescent Center after a long illness. Age 84 years. He was born in Elba, Neb. Feb. 11, 1889. He married Julia Elliott Dec. 25, 1912, in Mayville. He was a member for 50 years of the Juniata Baptist Church and had held many offices. He was a farmer and carpenter. Surviving are his wife; one son, Fred L. Welsh, Vassar; three daughters, Mrs. William (Mary) Rogers, Mason, Mich.; Mrs. John (Ruth) Engels and Mrs. William (Gwendolyn) Brandt, both of Millington; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Nelle Riley, Denver, Colo.; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Juniata Baptist Church. Rev. Leonard Bruder will officiate with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Vassar. Friends may call at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington."
