Gwendolyn Margaret Welsh

"Passed away Saturday, October 19, 1991 at her Millington residence. Age 77 years. Gwendolyn was born in Millington, April 25, 1914 and was the daughter of Fredrick V. and Julia Welsh and had resided in the Millington-Vassar area her entire life. She married Floyd R. Davenport in 1940, he preceded her in death in 1961. She later married William F. Brandt in 1964, and he preceded her in death in 1988. Gwendolyn was a member of the Millington Church of the Nazarene. She was a graduate of Eastern Michigan University with a Master's Degree in Education and was an Undergraduate of Central Michigan University, specializing in Special Education. She was a teacher for 38 years, retiring in 1972 from Tuscola County Intermediate School District. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Jack (Wanda) Clark, of Millington; Mrs. James (Diana) Gass, of Alma, Michigan; two sons, Daniel Davenport of Millington; and Charles Davenport of Vassar; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Fred Welsh of Vassar; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Haines and Mrs. Ruth Engels, both of Millington; many nieces and nephews. Gwendolyn was also preceded in death by great-granddaughter, Sarah Ann Parsell, in 1991. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 22, 1991, at the Millington Church of the Nazarene, Pastor Ray Raycroft officiating. Interment in the Riverside Cemetery in Vassar."

Gwendolyn married Floyd Davenport in 1940 in Michigan. (Floyd Davenport was born in 1901 in Michigan, died in 1962 in Michigan and was buried in Riverside Cem., Vassar, Tuscola Co., Michigan.)
