In 1928, Winnie Bellamy became the chief operator of the Cairo Telephone Exchange. She served in this capacity for several years.(p.56 CCH)
"Winnie, a duaghter who was a telephone operator for several years in Cairo was a familiar sight on the streets of Cairo, always extremely well-dressed wore high heels and all of her clothes were designed and made by Nettie Shouse. Wherever she went her little dog would accompany her. After leaving the Cairo vicinity the family lost contact with her. (p.119 CCH)
