Habitat Flag Program

Habitat Neighborhood Flag Program

The Habitat for Humanity of Bulloch County Neighborhood Flag Program is a unique fundraising activity that combines patriotism with fundraising for our home construction activities. Homeowners in participating neighborhoods donate $30 per year to HFHOBC which is a tax deductible contribution. In return Habitat volunteers place an American flag in front of the home on the five holidays on which people traditionally display the flag:

  • Memorial Day
  • Flag Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Veterans Day

More than 200 flags were waving proudly on Veterans Day, 1998 and our goal is 300 on Veterans Day, 1999! This activity has rasied over $10,000 since its' inception and we are currently looking for new volunteers in new neighborhoods to help us grow! Habitat flags are currently available in the following neighborhoods; Iron Gate, Hazelwood, Westridge, Turkey Trail, Country Club Road, Golf Club Circle area, Woodlawn, Saddlebrook, and Englewood Acres. If you or your neighborhood is interested in participating with us, please call Billie Pickett at 764-7528, or email her at jpicket@frontiernet.net .
