| Children's Liturgy of the Word is for children in preschool through grade 3. The class is available during th 8:30 AM Mass from September through May. (The last class for this school year is Sunday, May 25th.) The children are called to the front of the church before the First Reading by the priest. They are given a blessing and then go downstairs to the lower level with their Children's Liturgy Leader. During class time the children listen to a much more simple reading of the gospel and then are invited to complete an activitiy sheet that reinforces the gospel lesson. The children return to Mass during the offertory collection. Please look over your child's activity sheet and let them show you what they have accomplished. Volunteers are always needed. The commitment is one Sunday per month from September through May. (We also need substitutes for the times that a scheduled leader is unable to be there.) All materials are provided. Children of Liturgy of the Word Leaders have their child's Faith Formation fee waived. Please call Debbie Bauer at 507-263-4680 or email to spvff@frontier.com to volunteer. |
